The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce has established a dedicated account to receive donations to assist businesses negatively affected by the power outage at the Christmas Stroll, December 7 - 8, 2024. "Lights Out" is a relief fund established to provide financial support for businesses that lost power during Stroll 2024. This fund will be open to receive donations beginning February 24, 2025 and continuing through the year. We are happy to announce that a donation has been made to start the fund. If anyone is interested in donating to this fund, please contact the Chamber of Commerce at 508-228-1700 or email Peter@nantucketchamber.org.
Donations made to this fund are not charitable contributions. Awarded funds should be considered taxable income. Please consult your tax professional with any questions.
If your business was impacted by the Stroll power outage, we ask that you complete this very simple form.
- On March 31, 2025 we will use this form to compile a list of all the businesses affected, cross referenced with an outage map, and distribute the funds collected to each business in the following weeks.
- The Chamber of Commerce is not collecting an administrative fee for this service. We are receiving the funds then distributing them in the form of a grant to each business that completes the form and was negatively impacted by the power outage. We will initiate subsequent rounds of distributions for donations made to the fund after March 31, 2025, if applicable.
- Funds received will most likely be considered income. Contact your accounting or tax professional as to how receiving funds may impact your business financials.
- By completing this form you agree to the name of your business being used in press releases, social media posts, and newsletters as a recipient.
